Many thanks to copyeditor Rebekah Slonim for this terrific post on the #WholeBookApproach, “Reading Like a Copyeditor.” I received an email from Rebekah sharing the post just one day after getting an email from another reader with the subject line “Fan Letter.” That reader had also just discovered my book, Reading Picture Books with Children, more than 7 years after its publication with Charlesbridge Publishing in 2015. As it turns out, he is visiting The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art soon, and I am hoping to be able to say hello and sign his book for him.
Hooray for fan letters and blog posts and readers! It is so gratifying to know that people are still finding and reading my book and that it is helping them to more deeply appreciate the other books they read.
