  1. I feel as though I’ve met a kindred spirit!

I am a school librarian, mother-of-twins, and wannabe blogger interested in pioneering the idea of biblio|parenting.

Through a professional development opportunity at the Wellin Museum of Hamilton College, I recently discovered Visual Thinking Strategies and have been regularly employing them in my instruction and with my own children… I blogged about this a bit here: https://biblioparenting.wordpress.com/2016/01/13/before-you-share-that-story/

While planning a trip to The Carle for later this month, I discovered you and your work and immediately ordered your book… Looking forward to its arrival later this week!

I’d love to chat more with you about your approach… I’ll follow up with an email after I’ve had a chance to read your book. I was just so excited to find you that I needed to comment right away!

  2. Hi Katie,

So nice to “meet” you, and thanks for writing! Isn’t VTS great? I took a quick peek at your site and think you’re right about the “kindred spirit” thing (are you an Anne fan by any chance?). I am excited that you found my book as a mom–we knew it would appeal to teachers and librarians but hoped it would find its way to parents and other caregivers, too. I look forward to hearing from you again, and check out my Other Writing page on this site (https://megandowdlambert.com/other-writing/) for my Horn Book “Books in the Home” essays. I contribute a few pieces a year to this column, but they included other writers’ pieces there, too. Take a look: http://www.hbook.com/tag/books-in-the-home/#_ and think about pitching something someday about your biblio-parenting life.
